hello, i’m paula!
What I do
I provide counseling and psychotherapy for women, ages young adult to midlife, who are struggling with anxiety and depression, life transitions, and pregnant and postpartum moms.
My Approach
As my client you can expect warm and genuine guidance, straight-forward communication, and a dose of humor thrown in here and there. I offer a fresh perspective and practical tools to help you identify the source of your problems, find clarity about what you truly value, and learn to manage your emotions through both everyday problems and big life challenges.
I personalize my approach to you, using tools drawn from cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), positive psychology, compassion focused therapy (CFT) as well as other mindfulness-based interventions for you to learn to better manage emotions and improve your overall wellness.
on a more personal note
I chose this career because of the healing, positive change and emotional freedom that I experienced as a result of my own therapy. I wanted to pay it forward by helping others feel better too. Becoming a therapist was a second career for me and after more than a decade in practice, I still love my job.
I’ve raised four kids as a single mom, so there’s not much that shocks me! And truly, I get how hard it can be to manage it all, let alone find some balance; especially when you’re struggling on the inside.
I wholeheartedly believe that we all possess unique strengths and capabilities that when nurtured, will enhance our lives as well as contribute the world around us.
We’re all in this together.
In my off time I love practicing yoga, hanging out with my dogs, and binge-watching TV
-often all at the same time!
